Mother Of Pearl (MOP) is an iridescent substance which forms on the inner layer of a certain shells. The material is thin and fragile and is not recommended for heavy traffic area or for Shower Floors. Shower walls only (no steam shower).
DO NOT use chemical solutions to clean MOP. Mild soap solutions would work fine.
Should not be used around places under high temperature environments that reach over 212 degrees, around fireplace or over radiant heat (underfloor heating); permanent damage to the product may occur depending on the placement. Please consult with your installer in regards to installation temperatures.
Important Installation note: Use flat trowel and un-sanded material to install MOP. Laminated shell is handmade, and up to 1% of small shell pieces may loosen over time. It may be repaired with epoxy glue.
